Seville. 2011

Design and animation of audiovisual contents of the permanent exhibition in the Atlantic Navigation Pavilion.

The animated contents developed by Pasos Largos –which represents the largest informative part of the main hall of the museum along with the interactive game–, consists of eight historical animated videos that narrate the secrets of navigation and the great feats of Atlantic journeys by means of the “soul” of eight historic figures and also seven large format projections on overhead screens that provide the atmosphere for some other audio tales that coexist alongside the spectacular setting of a sea of LEDs of half a million points of light.

Projection size: 23 metres long X 3.30 metres high

Projection size: 65” screens.

Projection system: hard disks with activation and language choice system, screens installed behind a two-way mirror of 1.80 X 2.40 metres. A display cabinet with a physical copy of the key element of the history enables the language selection and activation of the reproduction system.

Projection size: screens hanging from the ceiling of 4 X 5 metres.

Projectors: 7 X 5,000 lumens SONY, one per installation.

Projection: 7 animation clips of 3 minutes each in length, narrating different historic events. The clips serve to set the scene for the 7 settings and are projected over large screens or sails hanging from the ceiling at 5 metres height over each setting. By means of WATCH OUT technology other clips of an atmospheric nature are projected onto the 7 sails in a synchronised way, producing different times of the day, the night and the storm over a large area of the main hall.

Total animation produced: 28 minutes.
